rain rain stay away!

We have been hit by another storm. September is when we have the baddest of all.
Here is what happened to a neighbors tree-oh my.

Kids had no school BFF no office, so lunch we all go--Milkyway our other favorite restaurant! Just look at that crispy catfish =P

Then just like that the next day--winds and rain stop, my best gal pals and I had lunch (frozen margs) then a movie!

 did you know that:
• A UCLA study found friends help you live longer. Scientists observed that the more close friends we have, the less likely we are to suffer from chronic diseases, accidents, and psychological impairments.
• Friends are good for the heart and soul. They can help reduce the effects of stress on the body, protect against illness, and help us heal when we do get sick.
I don't know if these are true , all I know they are the best company- best story tellers and listeners, they have the best fashion advise/steals and deals etc etc.. a day is just never enough---never...

Fever Feast

Perks on being a chefs wife, I get to tag along to great dinners, talk with foodies, wine lovers, travel bugs etc. This week LTB (les touque blances phils) had a dinner in Fever at the Sofitel Hotel. Dinner was prepared by Spanish Chef Chele Gonzales. (If I may say it was quite el buli-ish!)

Something Old

One of my most treasured keepsake is this antique typewriter that i inherited from my maternal grandfather. I remember him typing away by this bedside while my cousins  and I play -run in and out of his room. For the longest time since he passed away ( 98 years old)... it just sat in our den as decoration/ book ends.

Then one fine day I had it cleaned !!!

My kids were in such awe! "IT SPANKS MOM! -its like a stamp!"

My daughter writes her BFF a letter =)
("its sooo fun exept it has no delete button..")
Then she asks.. "mom what if i need more copies, how do i print?"
Now that's another story haha!
HAPPY MONDAY!

Friday Happiness

Went furniture 'shopping' at the bodega (storage ) found this charming chair for daughters room. Her little girls room is slowly transforming to a 'tween' room , oh my!

Here is a before and after shot of that-- 'one mans trash is another mans treasure"

India part 2

Next to the Taj-- this was  unforgettable --such a Nat Geo  experience

The outer appearance of the Fort, being rough and craggy is totally different from its inside. The interior of the Fort has a warm ambience, which is the opposite of its outer appearance. The marvelous decoration of the Amer Fort is influenced by both, the Hindu and Muslim style built in the 1500's

India, 'till we meet again...

Im back from India. It was really INCREDIBLE to say the least. No words can describe its beauty, no photos can capture its mystique and grandeur --- well let me try, here are some. (warning, this is a photo heavy entry =)
